Khan who was convicted on Wednesday by a lower court of culpable homicide, was sentenced to five years imprisonment for driving over a group of sleeping homeless people, killing one person and injuring four.
Following the extension of his bail by court, a final appeal hearing has been fixed for July.
According to the actor, his driver, Ashok Singh, was driving the Toyota Land Cruiser that ran over the victims.
The judge, D W Deshpande, dismissed his account, saying the actor was driving the car and was under the influence of alcohol at the time.
Following his conviction on Wednesday, Khan approached the high court and was given  bail for two days.
According to his lawyers, the actor was sentenced without prove, claiming the court ignored a key eye witness.
