Update from the Presidential Tribunal: 11 Jul, 2019 |
1st Session - 9:30Am - 1:25Pm Court took a total of 6 (six) witnesses presented by the Petitioners, and from some LGAs mostly in Kaduna and Borno, States. To a large extent, the witnesses reported the following electoral violations:
Intimidation of PDP voters by security agents in connivance with the INEC; transportation of fake voters by the Respondents to some Polling Units especially in areas that were controlled by the PDP; entering of wrong results into Forms EC8b and c at LGA and State Collation Centers; illegal cancellation of votes by INEC in some strongholds of the PDP where it recorded majority of valid votes cast.
However, it is pertinent to note that the INEC in cross examination of witnesses mainly asked:
if they are aware, if any conviction has been made in response to their complaints/petitions against the violations. Responding, each witness stated that it is not their duty to execute; secondly, they insisted on asking why the witnesses did not attach their reports and result sheets to the Witness Statement deposed to in Court?
On the order hand, the GMB lawyers asked consistent questions such as: where were you between 1983-1985; as Head of State, did Buhari addressed the Nation in English Language? The Witnesses responded mainly, that yes, he was Head of State then by the Barrels of the Gun; and yes, he addressed in English. Only one said that he addressed in English but he never understood his message.
2nd Session resumes by 2:30Pm.
But, I am wondering why the Question bothering on English Language address by the then Head of State, GMB?
Let these legal representatives of the embattled President, General Mohammadu Buhari be told that Nigerians officially communicates in English Language and it can be spoken very well by some people who have less than First School Leaving Certificate!
